Atomic Age Alliance Advocacy
Current Advocacy - Maude Frazier Hall
The first classes at UNLV were held here in Maude Frazier Hall on September 10, 1957.
It is one of Midtown’s most historic buildings. As the university focuses on the next 50 years,
this building is slated for potential demolition within the coming year. On November 29 and 30th
the Board of Regents will discuss this matter: whether they will turn their backs on history and UNLV’s identity,
or celebrate Maude Frazier Hall as a bridge representing the last 50 years of educational growth in Southern Nevada.
It can be a gateway to the future of UNLV and Midtown redevelopment.

Current Advocacy - Federal Employees Building
Small single story office building with floating arches above the front and back windows.
The back wall inside is rock. Built in 1962 as the Federal Employees Building
and later as the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce through the 1970s.
Soon to be demolished for a three unit mini mall.

Past Advocacy - La Concha
The "Save La Concha" Campaign was a forerunner to the official organization
of the Atomic Age Alliance. This campaign helped to raise awareness regarding
this structure early in the preservation struggle. Flyers were distributed
in the Spring of 2004 at Viva Las Vegas and throughout the Southern California area.
A website dedicated to Saving La Concha was also created in 2004 along
with a MySpace profile that garnered over 250 qualified members.
